How To Make Your Own Night Lights For Camping

How To Make Your Own Night Lights For Camping

Introduction

Night lights are essential for any outdoor excursion, especially if you plan on camping. The problem is that they’re not always easy to come by when you’re in the middle of nowhere, and they can be expensive. So why not make your own? This DIY project will help you create camping night lights that are easy to make and cost less than $5 each.

How To Make Your Own Night Lights For Camping

1. Gather your supplies.

You will need the following supplies:

  • 1/2 gallon plastic milk container or other similar size container (the bigger, the better)
  • A lamp cord with an on/off switch and two sockets (one for each light)
  • Two small night lights (make sure they are frosted so they don’t shine through the plastic)

2. Find a suitable jar.

The next step is to find a jar that meets your needs. You’ll want to choose a jar that is the right size for your needs, as well as durable and able to withstand rough use in the outdoors. If possible, look for one that has a lid that seals well so you can take it with you without worrying about water getting inside.

3. Prepare the jar for painting.

  • Wash the jar in warm soapy water and rinse it well.
  • Dry the jar with a clean towel or let it air dry for at least 24 hours if you are going to use spray paint on your night light (please see step #4). If you are using acrylic paints, this step is not necessary as the paint will adhere to any surface without primer or varnish. However, if you have used any other type of paint then please follow these steps:
  • Remove any labels or stickers from your jar before painting it! They will come off easily with rubbing alcohol but only if they’re not stuck down too well…so be careful! If there’s some residue left after washing them off with soap & water then soak them in hot water until they no longer stick anymore (about 30 seconds), then wipe clean again with rubbing alcohol followed by another wipe down with soap & water just because why not right?

4. Paint your jars with glow-in-the-dark paint.

Once you’ve printed out your designs and cut them out, it’s time to apply the paint. You’ll want to use a thick layer of glow-in-the-dark paint so that it will soak into the jar instead of just sitting on top of it. For best results, let your jars dry for 24 hours before washing them with soap and water (or rubbing alcohol) to remove any excess paint from around their rims–otherwise, when you go camping at night, your jars might not glow very brightly because there’s not enough pigment in their surface area!

5. Add batteries and lights to the jar once it’s dry and ready to go!

Once you’ve mixed up the plaster and allowed it to dry, it’s time to add some batteries and lights. But before you do, make sure that:

  • Your batteries are fresh and have enough power in them to last through your trip (and don’t forget their charger!)
  • The light bulb is not too bright or dim for your needs–if it’s too bright, it may keep other campers awake; if it’s too dim, people won’t be able to see where they’re going at night!

You also want to make sure that:

  • The temperature of the battery pack doesn’t get too hot or cold during use; if either happens often enough over time then eventually there could be problems with short circuits due simply because things aren’t working correctly anymore due specifically because temperatures fluctuate so much during outdoor activities like camping trips which means nothing works right anymore because everything keeps changing around constantly until finally something breaks down completely

These DIY night lights will be easy to make and great for camping

Nightlights are a great way to make your camping trip more fun and exciting. They’re also great for kids’ rooms, so you can make one for your child’s room at home.

Here are some other reasons why you should make a nightlight:

  • It’s easy! All you need is some glue, tape and paint (if you want).
  • You can customize them in any way that suits your style–you can use glitter or stickers on the outside of the jar; paint it any color; add stencils or patterns…the possibilities are endless!

Conclusion

Now that you know how to make night lights for camping, it’s time to get started! These DIY projects are easy to do and will help you stay safe in the wilderness. They’re also perfect for those times when an emergency happens at home or work after hours when there is no other light source available except what comes from your phone or tablet screen–which isn’t always enough for safety purposes. With these glow-in-the-dark jars around your house or office space, however, there will always be some kind of illumination available no matter what happens during those dark hours when everyone else is asleep!
